Morning Normals

So, I've been able to make my bedtime later than it has been. I turn off the light at 9 pm instead of aiming for 8-8:30 since Logan started sleeping through the night. He may wake up shortly a few times, but he usually starts talking to himself around 4:30, which means I'm up at 4:30. If I wait long enough, he'll usually go back to sleep, although the latest that's lasted was this morning, when he woke up for good at 5:30. Mostly, though, I get out of bed at 5.

It's a wild and crazy life!

Instead of feeding him in our room, I go into his room, and the two of us sit in the rocker-glider for 40 minutes or so, before everyone else is stirring. When he's done, I'll change him and bring him back into our room for cuddles with Daddy while I get dressed for the day.

On weekdays, after feeding the cat, I'll take him downstairs to my mom, who is waiting to take him on their morning constitutional. On weekends, he and I go downstairs to take the dog for her walk. These aren't long walks because wrasslin' the pooch while pushing a stroller is more difficult than it sounds, and I'm more interested in getting back to the house and getting everybody settled than letting Ripley bark at the world.

Once we're back from the walk, Logan goes on his playmat while I make myself some breakfast. Then, back up to Daddy so I can pump (No days off from this, even weekends.) Often Mike ends up bringing him down for a bit a few minutes later or laying him down for a short morning nap, depending on his level of crank.

So starts our day in the menagerie.

This pattern means that even though Logan is sleeping through the night, and hence, I mostly sleep through the night, it also translates into me still being tired most of the time and still having to go to bed ridiculously early. I'm guessing it'll continue this way until he's weaned, and I don't have to feed him before going to work. Then, Mike and I will be able to split the early morning get ups.

I look forward to those days which draw ever nearer.
