Right now, Logan's favorite thing is running through the house. He goes from room-to-room, at his top speed, often ending the run with a flourish: either a jump or a smack of the wall.
He also loves watching himself do those things, so if he's downstairs, he turns his head every time he runs past the hallway to the guest room, where we have a full-length mirror hanging. If he's upstairs, he's watching his reflection in our bedroom door. If he's really desperate, he'll watch his shadow.
He has also discovered videos, loving the videos I have on my phone of him. It's one of the things we do together while I'm nursing Luke. Logan will stand by my legs, leaning on the pillow, sometimes lying on my legs, flipping through the gallery of photos and videos.
He also has a sign-language video which he's watched about 40 times by now. He is dramatically increasing his use of signs, which is very encouraging. He's starting a new speech therapy facility in two weeks, because the old one still hadn't set up a regular appointment time for him after two months. They kept saying, "Next week, we'll be able to set something up for you." Or, "We'll call you."
In the first case, they never did. In the second, three weeks would go by without them calling. I was very unhappy with this. The therapist herself was very nice, but I just felt like they weren't interested in really treating Logan.
He still loves playing with cars and trucks (and he'll watch YouTube videos with great interest) and water play. Pouring, stirring, dumping water....it's the best fun a boy can have. Joe and Trish got him a pirate ship that is meant for water play, and we have it up on the balcony. Pretty much daily, he's out there playing in it. The outdoor carpets we laid down are constantly soaked.
Part of our construction involved the backyard. We had the landscaper come in and remove the fireplace/water feature, which has opened up so much space back there. We're laying down playground matting over the concrete so the boys can run and play without getting hurt, and we're also going to get a playhouse for them, too. Once it's done, I'm pretty sure Logan will be torn between playing in the backyard or playing on the balcony.
Finally, he's growing more interested in Luke. No longer crying when he sees Luke, he now points at him and gently lays his hand on Luke's back sometimes.
Of course, he's looking to us to tell him, "You're such a good brother!" But hey, it's a start.
